Hi to all members,
We hope you are all enjoying the fine weather
and have recovered from ‘the other’ world cup!
Although the football season has officially finished, there is plenty
going on at the moment – hence this brief newsletter.

Gear Return
If you have not yet returned your gear (or have found some lurking in dark
corners) please contact Nick Tolan
email to arrange a time to return it. We have done an audit and
discovered that we are still missing a quantity of gear so we would
appreciate it if you could return anything that belongs to Cashmere
Wanderers as soon as possible.
Outstanding Subs
We still have a few members who haven’t paid subs for this season. If you
have received a reminder and haven’t yet paid, please contact Cathy
Gabites email
as soon as possible. Please note that under the new Goalnet player
registration system, we will not be authorising transfers or
re-registrations of any players that are not up to date with subs.
Mainland Football Coach Education Programmes
A reminder that Mainland will be running various coach education
programmes over the summer in preparation for next season. If you are
interested in attending a coaching course, please contact Fred Simpson

Success at Tournaments
Congratulations to all our members who were selected for Canterbury or
Selwyn teams to play in the recent South Island tournaments. Results from
the various tournaments are available via the Mainland website.
Special congratulations to our U18 Cashmere Wanderers boys team who made
the finals of the recent Tsunami tournament. This is a keenly contested
local tournament for U18 girls and boys teams – this year we entered a U18
boys team coached by Phil Inwood and Mike Boyd. Not only did they stun
their supporters by making the final (beating FC Twenty11 en route) but
they also picked up the ‘Fair Play’ award and one of the team – Rahul
Chandra was named MVP. Although they couldn’t quite manage the dream
finish, losing 3-0 to Coastal Spirit in the final, the boys performed
extremely well and we are all very proud of them and their coaches.
Enjoy the summer, don’t forget to come to the AGM and we look forward to
seeing you all back next year.
